Supporting Talented Pupils in the Pilsen Region

The project aims to systematically support and develop the knowledge and skills of gifted pupils in the Pilsen region in the fields of natural sciences, social sciences, foreign languages, the arts, and trade skills. The project is implemented by the Centre for School Services Pilsen, Částkova 78.

In 2010 and 2011 the project was co-financed by the European Social Fund (85%) and the Czech Republic state budget (15%) through the operational programme Competitiveness through Education (1.2 - Equal Opportunities for Children and Pupils, including Children and Pupils with Special Educational Needs).

Since 2012 the project has been supported by the budget of the PILSEN REGION. Thank you for your support.

Target group:

1) Gifted pupils (from primary and secondary schools) – pupils placed the highest in the regional rounds of school subject and artistic competitions (mathematics, physics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, programming, Czech language, geography, history, foreign languages – English, German, French, Spanish and Russian) and competitions for pupils at primary schools of art.

2) Extremely gifted pupils as diagnosed by the school counselling facility.

3) Since 2012 participants have also included students who excel in practical skills (Trade Skills camps)

4) Teachers who prepare pupils for competitions.

Benefits for target groups:

Pupils acquire new knowledge and skills in their field. The aim of key activities is to systematically support and develop pupils' professional growth, their creative and logical thinking. Being accommodated with a group of pupils with the same or similar interests contributes to higher motivation and better results.

Teachers learn about new trends, new approaches to education, and opportunities for individual work with extraordinarily gifted pupils, e.g. pupils with special interests in their field, gaining new experience. They will be able to pass on this acquired knowledge in their further teaching activities. All this contributes to the further professional growth of teachers.
